Connect and build networks with recruiters, corporates, and highly-motivated students. As well as being academically gifted, Golden Key members have a strong emphasis on leadership and are dedicated to giving back to their community throughout their careers

What is the Golden Key Career Connector?

This event connects high-achieving students, graduates and alumni with industry professionals and recruiters in a relaxed and intimate setting.

Who will be attending?

Industry representatives: Professionals, business owners, directors and recruiters from various industries who wish to meet high-calibre students and graduates and aren’t afraid to share their personal career journeys and knowledge with our members. Each organisation will be contacted to have their logo and information published in the Program booklets handed out on the evening.

Golden Key members: Students, graduates and alumni representing the top 15% academic cohort of major Melbourne Universities across all disciplines, who are motivated and passionate about expanding their networks and career opportunities.

What will happen at the event?

When you arrive and register on the evening, you will receive a personal Golden Key lanyard with your name, organisation/university and industry listed. Industry representatives are free to set up banners, hand out materials and/or roam around the room to speak to members. The evening also includes:

  • Wine, soft drinks, juice and water
  • Finger food
  • Keynote presentation by industry expert Angelique Zakkas
  • Photographer to have your professional head shot taken for LinkedIn
  • Golden Key goodie bags (for industry representatives)

Why should you attend?

Industry representatives and professionals should attend because:

  • You gain exclusive access to meet students, graduates and alumni from major universities in Melbourne who are in the top 15% of their peers academically.
  • Connect with and recruit the brightest students for your graduate and vacation positions, and attract high-achieving graduates for future positions.
  • Our members have a strong emphasis on leadership and giving back to the community, as well as being academically gifted.
  • Promote your organisation to our members by bringing your banner, brochures and business cards to the event. Your organisation’s logo, description and opportunities will be published in a hard-copy program booklet that every attendee will receive.

What should I wear?

Dress to impress – first impressions count! We recommend attending in business attire. Most industry representatives will come straight from work. Be prepared if you will be having your head shot taken on the evening.

What should I bring?

Industry representatives: Bring your business cards, banner, and any materials you may wish to hand out. Small round cocktail tables will be provided instead of trestles to encourage networking, so please be aware of limited space. Each organisation will be contacted prior to the event to have their logo, description and existing employment, internship or volunteering opportunities published in program booklets to be handed out on the evening.

Golden Key members: Bring your business cards (if you have some), and come prepared with questions. You will be emailed a list of the organisations attending prior to the event.

How much does the event cost?

This event is $5 for Golden Key members which is purely to cover food and drink. Registration is essential (please see the ticket options above) so that we can print out your lanyard. Please assist us by filling in all of your information correctly.

The event is located on Level 2 of The George building at Swinburne University of Technology, John St, Hawthorn VIC.
