Dr April Armstrong – Founder and Director of Business for Doctors

"10 Steps to Better Billing"
The focus of this initial two-part presentation is to introduce the concept of the “Culture of Medicine” and the self-imposed psychological restrictions of many GPs and other practitioners. Identifying the barriers to changing the process of billing patients and the repercussions of change assists doctors in strategising in managing both internal and external influences that restrict their earning potential. The focus on the initial presentation is on quality medical services and delivery of a health service that the doctor enjoys delivering while been adequately rewarded. It suits practitioners in both bulk-billing and private billing services. The method can be applied to all dairy layouts from 2 patients per hour to 7 patients per hour. This workshop is suitable for all private practice specialists and GPs

"Top 10 tips for better billing"
This incorporates many of the discussion points from the GP focused presentation focusing on the intra-professional relationships that grow a thriving professional private practice. Understanding the interactions between GPs and Specialists that can build a two-way relationship that is mutually beneficial, as well as beneficial for the patient. In addition this presentation looks at patient expectations, attracting desirable patients and reducing the likelihood of complaints.

"Pack and Stack"
The Medicare Benefits Schedule is the billing bible of medicine, yet rarely read and even more infrequently explained. The workshop covers an overveiw of the MBS, Medicare Audit, 20 common mistakes in billing and assists doctors to be Medicare Audit compliant.

This is a first of its kind workshop that identifies the areas to maximise Medicare item numbers and clearly explains the co-restrictions of Medicare billings with confirmation from the ASKMBS team in verification emails. Extensive emphasis is given to correct documentation and ethical billing, that is not billing a number simply for the patient to receive a rebate, but providing a valuable and valued service to the patient.

Dr Lily Vrtik – Plastic Surgeon, Business Owner, Educator.

"Marketing in Medicine"
This wonderful presentation compliments the BFD presenations by George and April with the focus from online presence to all types of marketing while falling within the restrictive advertising requirements of health professionals. Lily explains how to reach the audience (patients) and referring fields (GPs) in business and build a successful business.

"Finding your Niche"
Understanding the stages of a medical career after specialisation and the stress cycles we go under opens practitioners to the concept of fluidity in their business and medical life. Lily uses an old age Japanese model to explain how as practitioners we have four innate needs that in balance lead to our contentment and fulfilment in our careers. This exceptional presentation is not only relevant to our business lives, but to our personal lives as well and can be utilised by all business participants, managers, owners and practitioners.
