Description

The Gold Coast Biggest Tree Planting Day is back, block out your calendars for October 21st ! After three magnificent Biggest Tree Planting Day’s hosted by the Nerang River Keepers at Country Paradise Parklands, the wetland revegetation project in Nerang has reached completion, so it’s time to break new earth!

This year the event moves to the banks of Mudgeeraba Creek within Robina City Parklands just next to Robina stadium, where 10,000 native endemic plants are set to be planted by the Gold Coast community. Amidst the bustle of eager tree planters there will be plenty of other attractions for volunteers to enjoy, including live local music, street food, stalls, workshops, presentations and kid’s activities.

It’s a great chance to connect to the local environment amidst a festive atmosphere and explore the opportunities the Gold Coast’s environmental network has to offer in the voluntary and recreational realms. The one-day event is delivered by the community via the Gold Coast Catchment Association (GCCA) with support from the City of Gold Coast.

The day’s key theme is “The importance of native vegetation in the urban landscape”.
