Event description

Description

Acts 29 invites you to join us on the beautiful Gold Coast for our annual network conference, February 22-24 2018.

In 2 Timothy 4, Paul lays a series of powerful charges to the younger Timothy that boil down to this: stand firm. One of the greatest needs of the church in the West today is gospel-resilience in every area of life. We will be hearing from world-class speakers like Ray & Jani Ortlund, Mark Sayers, Adam Ramsey, and others who will help us think through faithful ministry that drills deep, reaches wide, and finishes the race.

Conference features include:

  • Featuring worship led by Aaron Ivey and The Austin Stone Band
  • Six plenary sessions with respected leaders from around the world
  • Breakout sessions targeting specific areas of church planting and pastoral ministry
  • Church planter Q&A panel
  • Marriage Q&A panel with Ray & Jani Ortlund
  • Time on the beautiful Gold Coast!

SPEAKERS

Ray and Jani Ortlund

Ray and Jani met at Wheaton College in 1968 and married in 1971. Today they serve Immanuel Church in Nashville, Tennessee – an Acts 29 church and have served together in gospel ministry for over 40 years. Ray also serves on the Council of The Gospel Coalition and blogs at the TGC website. He is a graduate of Wheaton College, Dallas Theological Seminary, the University of California at Berkeley, and received his PhD from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland. He has authored eight books including "The Gospel: How the Church Portrays the Beauty of Christ" and "Marriage and the Mystery of the Gospel," along with serving as a contributor to the ESV Study Bible.

As an author and a speaker, one of Jani's chief goals in life is to connect women with the Word of God. As Executive Vice President of Renewal Ministries, God is using her in women's conferences both in the United States and abroad. She is the author of "Fearlessly Feminine" and "His Loving Law, Our Lasting Legacy." When Jani is not speaking, writing, or visiting family, you'll find her in her garden, enjoying tea with a friend, or taking a long walk with her beloved husband. The Ortlunds have four married children and thirteen grandchildren, serving Christ throughout the United States and Great Britain.

Mark Sayers

Mark Sayers is one of the most insightful voices on the intersection of faith and cultural trends in the West. Mark will be helping us think through our unique moment in history, and how we can navigate our rapidly secularising society over the coming decade. He is the author of a number of books, including 'Strange Days: Life in the Spirit in a time of upheaval' (2017), Disappearing Church: From cultural relevance to Gospel Resilience' (2016), and 'Facing Leviathan: Leadership, Influence, and Creating in a Cultural Storm' (2014). Mark is the Senior Leader of Red Church in Melbourne, is the husband of Trudi, and the father of Grace, Hudson, and Billy.

Adam Ramsey

Adam Ramsey leads the Liberti family of churches on the Gold Coast, Queensland, and also serves as the network director for Acts 29 Australia/New Zealand. After a decade of pioneering ministries in both Australia and the USA, Adam and his family moved home to the Gold Coast at the end of 2014 to plant a church that was unashamedly centred on Christ and committed to multiplication. Liberti has a vision to plant 'church-planting churches' around Australia, and in 2017 sent out their first church plant (Liberti Coomera) along with revitalising an existing church (Liberti Mermaid Beach) a few months later. Adam is deeply passionate about preaching the gospel, loves being married to Kristina, and wrestling with his five kids.
