Going Slow - Slow Art Day
Event Information
Description
When was the last time you gave yourself permission to slow down? Checking instas and snaps while waiting for your morning coffee, or deleting some emails while walking to your next meeting?
You're curious about art. You know meditation, mindfulness and yoga is good for you, and you may have given it a go, but you're also looking for something beyond the mat and perhaps in a gallery?
Join us for Slow Art Day! This Saturday 8 April at 11:30am for an hour.
Much like a mindfulness exercise, where you focus on your breathing, in this tour you allow your mind to settle on selected pieces of contemporary art from the exhibitions currently on.
We look at 5 works for 5 minutes each. (Yes, it starts off difficult, but like a good movie, its over all too soon).
We then have a casual conversation about what emerged in our minds during the 25 minute sessions.
FREE to attend. Exhibitions currently on are HELEN BRITTON: INTERSTICES (contemporary jewellery), WORKS OF ART FROM WARBURTON (presented by the Berndt Museum and THE LIKENESS (portraits from the Cruthers Collection of Women's Art).
