Follow artist John Glover’s footsteps from his recently restored house and garden to locations where he painted some of his iconic works.
About this event
‘Glover Country’ is the name that famous Australian Impressionist artist Tom Roberts gave to the plains and hills south of Evandale in Tasmania, where colonial artist John Glover (1767 – 1849) lived from 1831 to his death.
The Patterdale, Tasmania homestead and surrounding landscapes that Glover famously painted in Glover Country are still very much intact, providing visitors with a timeless experience where they can:
- Explore Glover's residence and studio
- Stroll through fields and paddocks that Glover once did
- Enjoy a picnic with local produce (refreshments provided, bring your own picnic)
Times:
- House & Studio Tours: 11:00am to 12:00pm or 1:00pm to 2:00pm
- Self-Guided Walks: 10:30am to 3:00pm

You will begin the house tour at the studio at 173 Uplands Road, Deddington TAS
