About this Event

Global Citizen Is Excited To Announce Our Global Citizen After Hours Event Series 2019!

Global Goal Live: The Possible Dream

The next 18 months are a critical point in time. They provide a crucial and urgent opportunity to tackle extreme poverty, limit the impact of climate change, and fight global inequality. The actions taken during this time will establish the agenda for the final 10-year push to attain the United Nations’ Global Goals by 2030.

That’s why Global Citizen, in partnership with Teneo, is launching this new campaign, which will mobilise everyday citizens, corporations, governments, and philanthropists to reprioritise efforts to end extreme poverty and ensure the realisation of the Global Goals.

Co-chaired by Delta, Cisco, Johnson & Johnson, Procter & Gamble, and Verizon, the campaign will encompass events and festivals throughout 2020 with Global Citizen’s trademark mix of pop and policy. However, this time around, the events will be done in a way unlike any other in history. The year’s campaign will culminate on Sept. 26, 2020, with a historic 10-hour global media event.

// But what does this mean for Australia? //

We are inviting changemakers, activists, organisations and passionate individuals to join for an intimate conversation with Global Citizen's Co-Founder and Managing Director of Campaigns, Simon Moss, a key architect of Global Goal Live: The Possible Dream, to exclusively share the objectives and motivation behind the most ambitious campaign in support of ending extreme poverty since Live Aid.

Joining Simon on the panel will be Craig Foster, former international footballer, SBS broadcaster and social justice campaigner. Following the extraordinary success of Craig's efforts in leading the #SaveHakeem campaign, he is determined to ensure that the movement created by the goodwill of Australia continues to be focused on achieving positive outcomes for those that need it the most - right around the world.

Global Citizen's Australian Digital Campaigner, Madeleine Keck, will be hosting this fireside chat between two giants of social justice - it is one not to be missed!
