Description

The Glenthorne National Park Open Days are back this spring – don’t miss this exciting opportunity to view the draft masterplan for Adelaide’s second metropolitan national park on the weekend of the 26 and 27 of October from 10am-3pm.

Take a ranger-guided walk around the Glenthorne ‘Hub’ and see the park come to life through artist impressions, hear from the landscape architects, meet native animals and enjoy a host of free, fun and family-friendly activities including geocaching by Nature Play SA.

Come early and enjoy a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony by Traditional Owners, the Kaurna People and hear from The Minister for Environment and Water David Speirs MP.

Refuel with snacks and refreshments available for purchase from vendors and chat with the passionate rangers and members of the local community that are also helping to create this exciting new park.

Gates open both days from 10am for a 10.30am start.

Everyone who pre-registers on eventbrite for a ranger-guided walk and attends goes into the draw to win one of ten parks passes valued at $99.

This is an inclusive event. If you have accessibility needs, please note them on your booking and we will do our best to accommodate assistance on the guided walks. Accessibility requirements need to be advised no later than Friday 18 October.

Sturdy walking shoes, sunscreen, a hat, and refillable water bottles are recommended.

Walks are approximately 3km in length and include some undulating surfaces and gentle hills.

If you have any difficulties registering via Eventbrite please call (08) 8207 7700.
