Event description

Description

Come join me for a presentation about Girls on the Autism Spectrum. I will talk about the research, discuss why girls are underdiagnosed and how girls present differently than boys. I will look at teaching strategies and areas within a school that can be modified to accommodate their needs. I will also discuss my experience as a mum who walked beside her daughter during her diagnosis and some strategies that we've found helpful in our family. I will discuss the change in my perspective from special education teacher to Special Education Mum. Please bring your questions as there will be question and answer time at the end.

Sister Sensory will have their amazing sensory toy/ resources stall there and will be providing goody bags for everyone and a door prize on the night!

This presentation meets the new VIT's professional development requirement for topics in special education. Certificates of Participation will be provided upon request.
