Description

‘Girls in maths add up!’

Thursday 8 June 2017

University of Sydney, Camperdown campus

‘Girls in maths add up!’ is a special interactive event designed to inspire and encourage young women to continue their studies in mathematics and statistics in their senior years at school, and hopefully beyond. Additionally, it is a great chance to find out more about the growing opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

At the University of Sydney, School of Mathematics and Statistics we have a number of women keen on sharing their experiences including Professor Jean Yang (Statistics), Professor Jacqui Ramagge (Pure Mathematics) and Professor Mary Myerscough (Mathematical Biology), and those of our graduates and PhD students; and showcasing where a mathematics training can lead.

Your students will have the opportunity to meet other girls from different schools as well as get inspired by the stories shared at ‘Girls in maths add up!’.

Our program will be interactive, and will include a discussion panel, networking over lunch and campus tour.
