A Girl Geek Dinner hosted by Google!
It's been a while since our last dinner at Google, so what better way to spend a Tuesday evening? Spaces for this event are strictly limited, so get in fast! Only ticket holders will be permitted - no ring-ins!
Keynote by Cecelia Herbert - Reducing Stereotype Threat
Research has shown that our unconscious biases can impact our perceptions of others, interactions with coworkers, and business overall. But… can our self identity somehow impact our own performance? Google Australia's Diversity and Inclusion Manager Cecelia Herbert will share how our self perceptions can put us at risk of confirming negative stereotypes, as well as some steps that we can take to reduce this threat both in ourselves and others.
Naina Raisinghani: Contributing to Chrome and Open Source
Amy Lo: Being a Tech Lead for Google Maps API
Edwin Tay: Attending Grace Hopper
1 Darling Island Road
Date: Tuesday, 27nd October

As with most of our recent events, Girl Geek Sydney are expecting this event to sell out very quickly! If you don't register in time, you will be placed on a waitlist. IF YOU CANNOT ATTEND, we ask that you do the right thing and cancel your ticket so that another Girl Geek can take your place. No-shows run the threat of being placed on our banned list so you have been warned.
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
Our events serve alcohol so minimum age is 18 unless negotiated prior.
What can/can't I bring to the event?
If you are male and wish to attend this event you must bring a female with you or be brought by a female. NO FEMALE, NO ENTRY! (Sorry Guys! We need to keep the numbers balanced!)
