Event description

Description

Drawn from the rich history and cultural knowledge of traditional healing from the past, Peta Strachan and her group of dancers interpret issues in contemporary urban Aboriginal communities.

Experience this contemporary exploration evoking the power of healing practices, through a sensory and multimedia performance of music and dance.

Blending youth issues and the practices of healing and bush medicines, this is a multisensory exploration based on Peta Strachan’s personal experiences growing up in the bush on Darug land, living in and visiting remote areas of Australia where it has given her great connection to country.

Gili is a contemporary dance performance exploring these elements and bringing them from the bush to the stage.

Suitable for audience 8 years and over. A parent or carer (over 18 years old) must accompany attendee(s) 12 years or younger.

This event is a partnership with The Big Anxiety - festival of + art + science + people

The Big Anxiety brings together artists, scientists and communities to question and re-imagine the state of mental health in the 21st century.
