Event Details

Gidgestock Music Festival returns for its 5th year this October, bringing some of the best local music Perth has to offer to the beautiful hills of Gidgegannup, for this family-friendly, fund-raising festival, just 45 minutes from Perth city.

Experience a natural amphitheatre bush setting, a total of 18 live bands, campfires, rustic camping and dancing under the stars, then wake to the call of the kookaburras on Sunday morning for more fabulous music and a hearty cooked breakfast!

All of the musicians/bands donate their time, as do the stage crew and a group of fabulous volunteers who, together with our generous Sponsors, make the event possible. The venue too is donated by our wonderful hosts, Steve & Jo Mitcham, who generously open the gates of their beautiful 50-acre property for the festival weekend.

All profits from the Gidgestock Music Festival are donated on a 50/50 basis to the West Gidgegannup Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade and the Leukaemia Foundation.

Gates open 8 am Saturday so come early to secure a fabulous spot and enjoy the atmosphere. The music begins at 11.30am Saturday and runs until midnight then starts again 8 am Sunday morning until the festival closes at 2 pm.

Take a look at the talent that will be lighting up our stage. We are bringing the best local musicians Perth has to offer… Are you ready?

When does the festival start?

Gates open 8 am Saturday (12th of October) with a terrific range of local musicians playing from 11.30am to midnight on Saturday and 8 am till 2 pm on Sunday (13th of October).

What do I need to show to get in?

To enter Gidgestock, you will need to print your ticket purchase confirmation and present it at the gate for scanning when you arrive. You will be given your Armband and Program Booklet and directed where to go. Please follow all instructions from the parking and camping officials.

General Entry Tickets, Sunday Only Tickets and Swag Camping Tickets can be purchased at the gate. General camping tickets will NOT be available to purchase at the gate. Gate sales will be cash only and dependent on availability. Tickets are limited.

What should I do if I want to camp?

Campsites are available if you want to join us for a night under the stars. Camping costs start at $25 and includes breakfast and MUST be pre-purchased, unless you wish to camp in a swag.  Please bring your tent, sleeping bags, swags etc.

A small number of Caravan and Camper Trailer sites are available by prior booking only. Note that a 4WD is needed to bring a caravan due to the uneven surface and slope of the venue. Anyone planning to bring a caravan must provide their registration number at the time of booking – you will be prompted to do this at the ticket purchase area on Eventbrite.

How do I get there?

Gidgegannup is most easily accessed by car. To get to the festival grounds:

  • Coming from Perth, on the Toodyay Road you take a left turn into Reen Road.
  • Continue on Reen Road for approx 8km and turn left into Treechange Rise.
  • Number 64 is on the right at the end of the road, near the bend.
  • You will be greeted at the gate, tickets confirmed and given directions for parking.

What facilities are there at the festival site?

  • Delicious food & soft drinks will be available for you to purchase from various vendors at the grounds (cash only). You can also bring your own food if you wish.
  • There will be a range of merchandise available for sale as well as the superb Kookaburra pre-loved store, so make sure you bring some cash!
  • Toilets are located throughout the grounds and are free of charge. However, there are no shower facilities available.
  • There will be water available for washing and drinking during the festival.
  • Cameras are allowed – feel free to document the experience and share it with your friends. Please note that the use of personal drones is not permitted at the festival. The festival organisers have pre-arranged an approved drone which will be taking photos and videos during the event.
  • Purpose built campfires are arranged around the site for your comfort in the evening. Note that absolutely no other fires of any description are permitted, including personal BBQs.
  • Various activities will be available for kids. More details will be provided in the lead-up to the event.

What do I need to bring?

  • Bring your pre-purchased tickets!
  • BYO drinks, chairs and picnic rugs, tents etc.
  • Bring your sunscreen, sunglasses and hat/shade for daytime.
  • Warm clothes will be needed for the evening.
  • Insect repellent – it is tick season in the hills! All areas have been sprayed, but best to take precautions.

Where do I put my rubbish?

Please leave the site the way you find it, by using the bins provided for your rubbish or bring your own bags to collect and bring home your rubbish. Let’s keep the area beautiful!   Please pay particular attention to the disposal of bottle tops and cigarette butts and deposit them in the bins provided.

Gidgestock Music Festival

Gidgestock is a family-friendly music festival, made possible by the support of you and our sponsors.

Special thanks to Social Force for managing our digital marketing and event marketing activities.

All profits from the Gidgestock Music Festival are donated on a 50/50 basis to the West Gidgegannup Volunteer Fire Service and to the Leukaemia Foundation.

It is said that if you can remember Woodstock, then you weren’t really there. At Gidgestock, we have a better saying: Gidgestock, if you were there last year then you will never forget it.

It is happier, friendlier, more relaxed version of Woodstock, with great bands, just like Woodstock, but without the half-naked hippies dancing in the mud. Thankfully.
