Looking to diversify on farm or utilise small acreage or maybe you just want to produce fresh food for your local community.
If free range egg farming is something you have been considering, we may be able to assist you in getting started.
Our workshop has been designed as a 2 day workshop to ensure that we have time for the 'hands on stuff'.
Day 1 will cover marketing, production methods, housing options, hen health, feed options, predators, biosecurity and record keeping. There will also be a short farm walk to visit our hens and see for yourself, a true pastured free range system. There will also be time allocated for Q & A.
Day 2 is a more hands on day, incorporating egg collection and a cleaning and grading demonstration. We will also cover the basic handling of electric poultry netting.
Included in this workshop will be take home notes and lunch, morning and afternoon tea prepared with local produce.
