Get ready for Remembrance Day: a special workshop for schools (Years 4–9)
Overview
Join State Library on the eve of Remembrance Day as we uncover the experiences of Queenslanders who played pivotal roles in World War I. Students will gain a deeper understanding of the personal stories behind the history through primary sources from our collection, including uniforms, diaries, letters, photographs, and military equipment.
We'll also highlight photographs and newspaper articles from the historic day of 11 November 1918, when Queenslanders celebrated the end of ‘The Great War’.
This workshop offers meaningful context to help students appreciate the significance of observing one minute's silence at 11 am on Remembrance Day.
Register now and bring history to life for your students!
Workshop notes:
· This session is delivered via Microsoft Teams.
· This session is a multi-school event, open to all schools for registration.
