Course overview:

Founders and business owners often find it difficult to focus on accounting. This one-day intensive workshop is designed to get you and your business in the right financial shape. You’ll resolve any legacy accounting issues, build an investor ready financial model, and put in place infrastructure to automate your accounting and invoicing processes to enable your company to scale. You’ll work for a full-day in a small group with start-up and small business accounting specialist Simon Allsop. Simon spent 7 years working with KPMG before building his own firm to a team of 40. Simon now runs start-up and small business accounting at Hall Chadwick and is an expert in a range of new and emerging business models.

You will develop:

  • A robust financial model for your business. You’ll receive expert advice on your business strategy and develop a model to project forward and attract investors.
  • Get your accounts in order. You’ll work with Simon to clean up legacy issues, set-up Xero for accounting and invoicing and an online receipt tracker to automatically prepare good records for quarterly reporting and set your business up for scale.
  • Build a profit and loss balance sheet to help you effectively manage your business.
  • Choose a tax effective structure for your business. Understand your tax and governance requirements as you scale.
  • Learn about the key NSW and Federal Grant programs including MVP, Building Partnerships, R&D and EMDG Grants. Learn which grants suit your business and how to apply.
