Description

Area of Interest: Education- GERRIC

Registrations open at 7am on Monday, 3rd December. Set a reminder so you don't miss out!

GERRIC offers a range of programs for gifted and talented students (generally students who are capable of performing in the top 10% of their age-peers). GERRIC holiday programs will open your mind to abilities you may have not suspected you possess, and opportunities to use these abilities to the fullest. You’ll meet other students who share your interests and you’ll also meet inspiring teachers who love working with gifted students.

This year, places in the workshops will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis. You will know immediately if you have secured a place.

What if the workshop we want is full?

Ensure to refresh the page, in case a ticket becomes available. Otherwise, you may sign up for the waitlist at https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/waitlist-only-gerric-student-programs-tickets-51744029786. Note that this is not a secure position, very few students pull out of the programs once paid. We recommend enrolling your child in an altenative workshop they are interested in.

For the January programs, does Year 3-4, 5-6, etc refer to the student's previous or upcoming year of school?

Most families opt for the higher level when a student's year at school falls on the cusp between one or more of our designations.

e.g. a student who will start Year 3 the following February is eligible to apply for the Year 3-4 workshops, and a student who will start Year 5 the following February is eligible to apply for the Year 5-6 workshops.

However, if the topic of a workshop in the lower bracket is particularly appealing to a student, or if a parent believes that level to be more socially appropriate for their child, they may apply for a workshop at that level.

e.g. a student who has just finished Year 4 may apply for a Year 3-4 workshop if desired.
