In this instalment, Charles Green, Professor of Contemporary Art, School of Culture and Communication, University of Melbourne, speaks on Richter's Atlas project, and the self-historicising of artists.

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION

‘Gerhard Richter: The Life of Images’ will be the first substantial Australian exhibition of works by the German artist widely recognised as one of the world’s most influential living painters. With works from across six decades of Richter’s painting practice, it will include some of the most compelling and enigmatic pictures of the 20th and 21st centuries and show how the artist established an unparalleled influence on contemporary art.
