Geology rocks!

Enter the geology lab as we look at rock formation, minerals and more in a fun hands-on holiday workshop.

Grow your own crystals, find out how volcanoes erupt, learn about earthquakes, discover why plants favour particular soils and participate in the techniques used by geologists to study and classify the Earth.

Make a full day program by attending the afternoon "Plants for Life" workshop - students will be supervised by the Fizzics team over lunch.

Wear old clothes… we’re going to get dirty! Please bring a hat, water and snacks (no nuts please).

Where is the program being held?

The Maiden Theatre is accessible through the Woolloomooloo Gates on Mrs Macquaries Road. Follow the path to the right across the lawn.

We set minimum age limits on our programs to ensure that all attendees have the adequate fine motor skills and base level of scientific understanding to keep up with the content of our workshops, so we are unfortunately unable to accommdate the.m

Refunds Policy

Fizzics will provide a full refund only if the event is rescheduled or cancelled. We cannot refund tickets, but name changes on tickets are acceptable. Fizzics reserves the right to review all requests for refunds on a discretionary basis.

Fizzics Education

Fizzics Education has been a leading Australian provider of interactive science workshops and shows since 2004. Through its interactive science programs and corporate partnerships Fizzics Education presents to approximately 300,000 children each year via incursion and video conference across 400 schools and public spaces.

We are the Australian Small Business Champions winner for 2015 & 2016 and are an active corporate member of the Science Teachers Association New South Wales (STANSW).

Fizzics is actively involved in Virtual Excursions Australia (VEA), a portal for people to contact leading video conferencing content providers across Australia. VEA is a network which includes over 40 cultural institutions that meets monthly to discuss best practice in running lessons via video conferencing. In 2012 VEA members reached 100,000 students across NSW.

Fizzics Education was founded by Ben Newsome, a qualified Science Teacher and 2013 Churchill Fellow. Ben is a former Environmental Consultant, Children's Summer Camp Director and CSIRO Education Team Member. Fizzics operates in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
