Description

Professor Geoffrey Lancaster from WA Academy of the Performing Arts will give a special guest lecture on the piano in Jane Austen's time. The lecture will be followed by a panel discussion on music, gender and class in Austen's novels.


Professor Lancaster is an acclaimed soloist, conductor and expert in the historically inspired performance of the works of Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven. He currently teaches fortepiano at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, Edith Cowan University, where he holds the position of Research Professor.
