Description

We invite you to attend the Gender Equity Network's third event, Meritocracy and Strategies for Improving Gender Equality.

This event will feature two guest speakers, Annwyn Godwin, Australian Public Service Merit Protection Commissioner and Samantha Palmer, General Manager - People, Culture and Communication with the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

Samantha will discuss strategies used in the ABS to influence change relating to gender equality, including blind recruitment trails. Samantha has over 20 years experience in senior roles in the Commonwealth and Queensland Governments, has worked in the private, University and community sectors and run her own successful business. She was one of the 2013 AFR/Westpac 100 Women of Influence and the 2013 Australian Human Resource Institute Diversity Champion of the Year (HR).

Annwyn Godwin will talk about trends and issues related to the application of merit, with examples from case studies. Annwyn holds the dual appointments of Australian Public Service and Parliamentary Service Merit Protection Commissioners. Her SES career has involved working with the Department of Immigration and Citizenship, the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry and the Australian Customs Service.

We look forward to seeing you there. We encourage you to book early as places are limited.
