Event description

Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high...
And the dreams that you dreamed of
Once in a lullaby....
Somewhere over the rainbow
Blue birds fly
And the dreams that you dreamed of
Dreams really do come true.

Gaytimes is the camping festival of your big gay dreams. Brought to you by CLOSET, Gaytimes is Australia’s queer camping music festival. Over two nights on February 16 - 18 2018, Gaytimes returns in its third year as a boutique outdoor music and arts festival to be held in a picturesque campground in Lake Mountain Alpine Resort.

Gaytimes will offer a weekend of music, art, community, sexuality and self-expression for the LGBTIQ community.

With an eclectic lineup of music, performers, visual arts, food trucks, yoga and more, Gaytimes is a festival experience unlike any other.

Whether you opt for glamping on the mountain top or prefer camping under the stars, Gaytimes is a bush doof with a touch of class.

Gaytimes is presented by CLOSET, one of Melbourne's longest running and best loved queer parties.

Back in 2009, CLOSET began with two friends throwing a party and thinking a few hundred people would turn up and instead 1200 people showed up. The rest is history.

CLOSET is a monthly night from homosexuals and those who love them, so we welcome the whole rainbow of the LGBTIQ community and their friends.

Gaytimes is the Australia's first ever queer camping music festival.

Gaytimes welcomes sexually and gender diverse people from the whole LGBTIQ community.

Gaytimes is a boutique music, arts and camping festival for the whole lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer and gender diverse community.

We are a festival that welcomes all the colours of the rainbow, and their friends.

We pride ourselves on curating an eclectic and diverse lineup that represents people from a broad range of identities, backgrounds and music styles.

As a social enterprise, Gaytimes hopes to provide a platform for emerging queer and gender diverse artists to be seen and heard. As we get bigger, we want to do more.

Gaytimes isn't just about music, either. It is a weekend getaway of performance art, visual art, light projections, community, self-expression, sexuality, yoga and more.

We aim to create safer spaces for LGTBIQ people to come together and be themselves.

Every single year, we take lengths to ensure the experience is enjoyable for everyone by consulting with our diverse and knowledgable community at large and implement ways to make things better and more accessible for all. This includes gender-neutral bathrooms, better access to things you need, safety ambassadors, delicious food, drink and warm spaces for patrons to relax and recover.

By purchasing this ticket you accept the terms and conditions, terms of entry and our privacy policy here.

Gaytimes Festival is supported by the Victorian Government through Creative Victoria.
