5:30pm for a 6:00pm start
Aerospace Gateways Schools and the Royal Aeronautical Society are hosting a networking function at Victoria Barracks Brisbane for the teachers that are delivering the Queensland Aerospace Studies subject and local Industry.
The aim of the activity is to assist teachers in delivering the high school course and realising the full benefits of the unique Queensland education program by; helping schools establish more direct contacts with their local Aerospace Sector, and improving teacher's knowledge of employment paths within Industry so as to better mentor their student. A panel discussion, themed as "Do Queensland students have the right Arts/Science balance to succeed in an aerospace career" should expose the wide range of personal attributes that can make a difference to our Industry as future innovators, business leaders, pilots, engineers, maintainers, air traffic controllers, logisticians, researchers, educators, lawyers, doctors etc for manned and unmanned aircraft. Industry members with training, recruiting, or organisational development roles are particularly encouraged to attend and add to the depth of the discussion, as are those with a good appreciation of multi-disciplinary practices within the sector.
Prior registration is essential for access to Victoria Barracks: Teachers will register in the Gateway Schools Eventbrite site; RAeS members need to register on this Eventbrite site.
Parking is available on site at Victoria Barracks.
Numbers will be limited to 50 (approx 25 each from schools and industry). Accordingly, Industry participation is limited to RAeS members.
