About this Event

CHESTER HILL COMMUNITY GARDEN

Do you enjoy social & therapeutic activities and workshops on gardening and sustainability?

Activities aim at increasing wellbeing, facilitating pathways to volunteering, vocational education, and employment. No booking required, all activities are free, children welcome. In partnership with Royal Botanic Gardens’ Community Greening Program and Canterbury Bankstown-Council.

All activities are held at 63 Waldron Road corner Hector Street, Chester Hill.

Social & Therapeutic Gardening

Each Tuesday from 9 am – 11 am we maintain the community garden and nature based play area. The harvest will be shared or offered to the local community through the Chester Hill Neighbourhood Centre. Please bring a hat, sunscreen, gloves, and a mug for morning tea.

Royal Botanic Garden Workshops

Once a month from 10.30 – 12.00 pm during school term, topics are:

11 Mar. Composting and Worm farming

13 May Gardening for Good Health

10 Jun. Growing in Containers

12 Aug. Natural Pest Control

09 Sep. What is in a Potting Mix

17 Sep. Discovery Day at Botanic Gardens

11 Nov. Fruit Fly Control
