Event description

Description

Come along and learn how to harvest and cook from your garden. Meet our very own Garden Project Volunteer, Lesley, who is leading the "Garden to Plate" demonstration.

In this afternoon session, you will learn how to plant and propagate some unusual perennial food plants and use them in the kitchen. These plants and herbs will add variety and flavour to your cooking.

We will spend some time in the garden, identifying some edible plants, gathering a harvest, and then use the produce to cook a healthy and tasty afternoon tea.

You will take away some cuttings and recipes. These plants are cheap and easy to propagate and suit anyone wishing to eat healthily whilst on a budget.

This workshop is designed to increase your confidence and improve health and well being from the garden through to the plate.

What to bring:
- adventurous taste buds
- pen and paper

What is provided:
- food
- copy of recipes
- cuttings of various plants in season
