Event Details

Facilitated by Ray Weekes, Chairman of The CEO Institute, the Game Changers series brings innovation leaders from business, technology, and creative industries to share their insights with aspiring Queensland entrepreneurs. This is your chance to ask how local entrepreneurs and business leaders build companies, reinvent themselves generation after generation, inspire teams, and envision success.

Our August Game Changers conversation this year showcases Wayne Denning, Executive Producer and Managing Director of Carbon Media. Wayne is a proud Birra Gubba man from Blackwater, Central Queensland. In 2006, he left a successful career in Federal Government to start Carbon Media, a full service creative agency, determined to give a positive voice to Indigenous Australians through delivery of engaging content and compelling story telling.

Wayne’s commercial work, documentaries and children’s shows (including Sesame Street) for NITV, ABC and SBS, corporations and government, have promoted Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture worldwide and led the way for further opportunities for Indigenous Australians to have a stake in the digital economy. The Indigenous children’s television shows, such as Go Lingo and Letterbox (for ABC3 and NITV), have a strong education focus and promote spelling and literacy.

Wayne globally promotes Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture through media and digital forms. It is important for Indigenous cultures and languages to be present and alive in the digital world, online, on TV and on mobiles.

Following the event, we invite you to network with Wayne and other business leaders on the stunning Queensland Terrace.

Can't make it in person? The talk will be live streamed.
