Event description

Description

The Australian Centre for the Study of Armed Conflict and Society at UNSW Canberra will host a Conference on Future Warfare, to be held at the Australian Defence Force Academy in Canberra on the 8th April 2019.

This event will bring together Defence practitioners, academics and industry to explore four key capabilities which are shaping the character of current and future warfare under the focal areas of implications for military operations, strategic/international relations implications, legal implications and ethical implications. These capabilities are:

  • Space Operations
  • Artificial Intelligence and Autonomous Weapons Systems
  • Cyber Operations
  • Special Operations

Confirmed speakers include:

  • Dr Nadya T. Bliss, Director of the Global Security Initiative (GSI) at Arizona State University
  • Linda Robinson, Senior Researcher at the RAND Corporation
  • Dr Mark Hilborne, King's College London
  • Dr Levi West, Charles Sturt University
  • Dr Albert Palazzo, Australian Army Research Centre
  • Dr Malcolm Davis, Australian Strategic Policy Institute
