Event description

Description

Our workplaces are being reshaped. We face a transformation on a scale larger than the industrial revolution – and it will change work and society in ways that we’re only beginning to imagine.

In a world being transformed by shifting demographics, digital disruption and emerging technology, discover strategies to prepare for the workplaces of tomorrow at the fourth annual Future of Work: People, Place, Technology.

KEYNOTES, PANELS AND MASTERCLASSES

Our full-day program features a keynote address from Professor Jeff Pfeffer, American business theorist and the Thomas D. Dee II Professor of Organizational Behavior at the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University. Considered one of today's most influential management thinkers, his book Leadership BS: Fixing Workplaces and Careers One Truth at a Time will provide a fresh perspective on traditional leadership opinions.

Joining us from the UK is Professor Michelle Ryan, Professor of Social and Organisational Psychology at the University of Exeter, UK and a (part-time) Professor of Diversity at the University of Groningen, The Netherlands. She holds a European Research Council Consolidator Grant to investigate how context constrains women’s careers choices. With Alex Haslam, she has uncovered the phenomenon of the glass cliff, whereby women (and members of other minority groups) are more likely to be placed in leadership positions that are risky or precarious. Research into the glass cliff was named by the New York Times as one of the top 100 ideas that shaped 2008 and the term “The glass cliff” was shortlisted as word of the year by the Oxford English Dictionary in 2016.

See full program, masterclass details and speaker profiles at www.futureofwork2017.com.

Complemented by interactive masterclasses delivered by Australian researchers and innovators, Future of Work combines the expertise of leading practitioners with the insights of cutting-edge researchers to make this conference one of the most influential of the year.

In the workplace of the 21st century, innovation and adaptation are the only constants. Embrace the challenge at Future of Work: People, Place, Technology 2017.
