Event description

Description

Further to a highly successful lunch late last year, we are delighted to be able to once again host Jan Godsell, for a workshop on Thursday, 10 August.

Sponsored by Monash Business School the purpose of this interactive workshop is to provide an opportunity to asses and reflect on the current level of supply chain performance and identify potential areas for improvement.

The changing industrial landscape has the potential to redefine the way in which we consume products and services and in order to survive and thrive, it is imperative that companies fully leverage the potential of the supply chain.

Technologies that support greater connectivity are enabling the evolution of existing business models – and more revolutionary creation of new! This may turn a product into a service or enable more effective sharing of an existing asset base. This, potentially, has a major impact on supply chain design as companies seek to place the right supply chain assets in the right places – locally, regionally, globally – to respond to demand as effectively and efficiently as possible in an increasingly dynamic environment.

Although splitting her career between industry and academia, Jan lives and breathes manufacturing and developed a successful career with companies including ICI/Zeneca Pharmaceuticals and Dyson. She is a Chartered Engineer and holds a PhD from Cranfield researching the development of a responsive supply chain.

Who should attend
Executive and senior managers who wish to understand the degree to which they are currently using the supply chain to create competitive advantage.

Facilitating this session
Professor Amrik S. Sohal from Monash Business School, has spent the past two decades engaging with the manufacturing sector in Australia through research projects and industry seminars. Prior to pursuing an academic career, Amrik worked for many years in the manufacturing sector in the UK.
