About this Event
During the workshops, Queensland Museum facilitators guide Years 5 – 9 teachers through collaborative activities designed to develop the skills and confidence required to deliver innovative and engaging STEM activities in the classroom.
Workshops will be repeated on each day to assist schools managing teacher relief.
WORKSHOP TOPICS
School of Rocks
Rocks and minerals have been used by humans and our ancestors for millennia. Explore the formation and properties of rocks and their uses, and investigate the effects of volcanic activity.

Illuminating Colour
Delve into the world of light and colour in this illuminating workshop. Explore how light and colour can be used and changed, investigate how people and animals experience refraction, and inquire into the origins and purpose of colour in the natural world.
