About this Event
During the workshops, Queensland Museum facilitators guide Years 5 – 9 teachers through collaborative activities designed to develop the skills and confidence required to deliver innovative and engaging STEM activities in the classroom.
Workshops will be repeated on each day to assist schools managing teacher relief.
WORKSHOP TOPICS
Transforming Energy
Explore energy and electricity in this transformative workshop. Design products and systems that incorporate different forms of energy, and identify the energy transfers and transformations that occur in locomotives, investigate the history of electricity in our state and use electric vehicle specifications to plan a journey between two cities.

Fantastic Features (and Where to Find Them)
In this workshop, you will explore the adaptations that assist the growth and survival of a range of organisms. Make inferences about an unknown organism using only its structural features and a cell sample, investigate the adaptations that help Australian animals survive in their habitats and conduct scientific investigations to explore how the growth and survival of organisms are affected by the physical conditions of their environments.
