Future Anything Kickstarter Launch Night
Tue. 8 November 2016, 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm AEST
Please join Steph and I for an incredibly exciting night as we launch our new business venture, 'Future Anything' with you. We'll supply food, live jazz from some of Brissie's most talented musicians, and the chance to win some amazing lucky door prizes just for turning up.
You bring yourselves, your social media enabled device (so you can drum up some buzz!) and anyone else you know who you think might want to be a part of the event. Nab a photo from our professional photographer, Tweet our hashtag (#futureanything) and share our campaign with your social media networks. It's going to be a great night!
Who are we?
Future Anything believes that all young people should be able to be anything they want to be in their future. Period. We are passionate about providing dynamic opportunities for young people to engage, or re-engage, in education.
What do we do?
Our innovative and engaging online tutoring platform will connect world class teachers and tutors with learners. Students will be able to search our large interactive directory to choose a peer reviewed teacher or tutor who they feel can best support their specific educational needs. Need tutoring in Maths? Science? Guitar? Italian? Future Anything allows students to access registered teachers and industry expert tutors without actually leaving the house.
Teacher credibility plays a large role in student success; by facilitating a space where students and their parents can pick a provider that best reflects their students’ individual learning needs and style, we’re maximising the opportunity for students to build meaningful and productive relationships with their tutors.
As our teachers and tutors work as contractors; they set their own hourly rate based on qualifications and experience. No lock in contracts, subscriptions or fixed prices- students choose a tutor and price point that suits them. Our service providers range from registered teachers to industry experts to university students- thus allowing us to provide a range of price point options to suit any budget.
We’re also passionate about providing opportunities to young people who can’t afford our service. In this way, a percentage of the profits from our online platform go towards offering free tutoring to young people from disadvantaged and marginalised backgrounds. We're in the process of partnering up with some fantastic organisations who are just as passionate about supporting young people as we are.
Why do we need you?
We want you to be a part of the education revolution. Our online platform is just the first phase of a venture that is sure to shake up the education system. But, the first 48 hours of a Kickstarter is crucial to determining the success of our campaign. We need you to help us drum up some support early- whether that’s by bringing a key person along to our event that can help spread the word, helping us ‘trend’ by Tweeting up a storm, sharing our Kickstarter campaign on Facebook, or tagging in to our Launch with a photo.
Wait, what's Kickstarter?
Kickstarter is a funding platform for creative projects. Everything from films, games, and music to art, design, and technology. Kickstarter is full of ambitious, innovative, and imaginative projects that are brought to life through the direct support of people like you.
Thousands of projects are funding on Kickstarter at any given moment. Each project is independently created and crafted by the person behind it. The filmmakers, musicians, artists, and designers you see on Kickstarter have complete control and responsibility over their projects. They spend weeks building their project pages, shooting their videos, and brainstorming what rewards to offer backers. When they feel ready, a creator can launch their project on the site and share it with their community.
Every project creator sets their project's funding goal and deadline. If people like the project, they can pledge money to make it happen. If the project succeeds in reaching its funding goal, all backers' credit cards are charged when time expires. If the project falls short, no one is charged. Funding on Kickstarter is all-or-nothing.
What will the $$ from the Kickstarter go towards?
Let’s be real, starting a business isn’t cheap. The capital generated will go into building our online platform, marketing and set up costs. Let’s just say, our lawyer and accountant are definitely loving working with us! Aside from that, the money will also go towards funding a term’s worth of free lessons for a number of young people that we are connecting with through partnership organisations.
