Event description

Description

Join emerging leaders from across Australia to explore the foreign policy challenges facing Australia in the Indo-Pacific century at Future 21, Young Australians in International Affairs annual conference.

This is no ordinary conference

In an age of increasing strategic uncertainty and geopolitical risk, Future 21 puts the next generation of policy makers, thought-leaders and scholars with some of Australia's leading policy thinkers and practitioners to think critically about the foreign policy, defence and strategic challenges and opportunities facing Australia and how we will navigate our future in the 21st century.

Over two days, participants will engage with a range of experts across government, academia, think-tanks and industry to explore themes such as:

- Changes and shifts in the international order

- Increasing regional challenges in Southeast Asia and the Pacific

- The US-Australia alliance and the role of the US in the Indo-Pacific

- Cyber security, AI and emerging technology

- Long term trends shaping Australia’s economic, demographic, productivity and social outlook to 2060

- Policy making in uncertain times

- Women, peace and security

But that's not all...

Future 21 will also include a range of professional development workshops to build participants' leadership skills as well as a foreign policy pitching competition for participants to pitch their ideas about Australian foreign policy and how Australia can uphold and promote its interests in an increasingly complex world to an amazing line-up of government, academic and industry leaders.

Future 21 will also include a black-tie Gala Dinner at Gandel Hall at the National Gallery of Australia on Thursday 13 September.

Get your ticket before they sell out!

Tickets cost $170 (+ booking fee), inclusive of morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea and the Gala Dinner. Refunds will be accepted up to COB 13 August 2018. Dietary requirements must be sent to future21@youngausint.org.au before 24 August 2018.
