Grants, funding, awards, tenders and scholarships are often considered the holy grail of a successful arts career. But this revenue stream takes hard work and patience.

The City of Sydney is working with Creative Plus Business to deliver The Funding Fundamentals workshop series. All the workshops are specifically designed for creative businesses and arts and cultural practitioners in the City of Sydney local government area.

Workshop 3: The budget

You will learn:

• The basics of budgets and understanding spreadsheets
• The real deal behind ‘in kind’ and ‘own contribution'
• How to research the budget and get the numbers right
• The revenue section, and how to guesstimate income
• How to make a budget action plan

All participants will receive:

• Access to a dedicated Funding Fundamentals Dropbox folder full of additional downloadable resources and workbooks to support you after the workshop concludes

• Access to additional free webinars to supplement the material covered in the workshop

• The possibility of further one-to-one business advice, mentoring and support from one of our creative industries business advisors
