Event description

Description

TypeScript is one of the key technologies that is shaping the future of web apps. Companies such as Google, Asana, Microsoft and Canva are using its power to address the complexity inherent in apps with huge teams and hundreds of thousands of lines of code. To explore this important frontier of JavaScript we are flying out one of the core TypeScript contributors from Seattle and have assembled a lineup of local experts for the next Frontend Sydney meetup.

They will be talking about their experiences with various “typed JavaScript” technologies, including TypeScript, Closure and Flow. We’ll be wrapping up the evening by hosting a panel session with some great discussion between the speakers and you’ll have your own opportunity to ask questions.

If you have worked with TypeScript in the past this will be an excellent opportunity to engage with one of the core contributors and talk about the future of the language. If you are are yet to try it but are tired of JavaScript code causing you headaches in production, then this will be a great evening to learn about new technologies and disciplines that can help reduce that problem.

All proceeds from this event will be donated to Curious Minds, an organisation that enables highly capable girls in years 8 and 9 to explore all aspects of STEM.
