Event description
Theology has a message for you: the One who created it all in the beginning is the same One who saved it at the end.

About this Event

St Cyril's College presents the first youth day in the series From Theology, with Love, bringing important messages from Orthodox theology to youth in the Christian community. The theme of the first day is:

#1: Then God Said ...

It all started with a Word: God commanded, and they were created. Light shone out of darkness. But the story wasn't finished yet: not until the One who created it all "in the beginning" came to save it "at the end", at the climax of the creation story, where the Creator became the Saviour of the world.

The day will include three short talks from college faculty, a workshop session, and a bookstall. A more detailed program will be made available closer to the date. Lunch and light refreshments will be provided.

WRITING COMPETITION

St Cyril's is also hosting an international writing competition on the day's theme. Submit a 700–1000 word reflection on one of the following prompts:

(1) On the Cross, the Creator became the Saviour.
(2) We love, because He first loved us.
(3) How long would I have lasted in the Garden?

The winner will receive a scholarship to study at St Cyril's covering half their tuition while the runner up will receive a $200 book voucher. For full details on how to enter, see instructions here: St Cyril's Writing Competition
