From Prey To Power: a women’s workshop (Tantra-inspired)
Wed. 30 November 2016, 6:45 pm – 9:45 pm AEDT
As a woman, do you find yourself emotionally or physically guarded and suspicious of men's intentions?
Do you feel weighed down by the need to please people? Ever had bad experiences or tolerated unwanted behavior?
Perhaps buried deep within your pelvis or womb there are a few “No's”you wished you said, but didn't?
Ever feel ‘shut down’ in your body, like you can’t safely let go?
Do you struggle to completely surrender into orgasm with a man, but feel more safe & open by yourself or with a woman?
In this workshop, we’ll explore & unwind the victim/prey archetype and begin to reclaim our authentic power and desires.
You have a right to feel empowered and at home in your own body. This matters!
Feeling free and empowered in your skin (without niggling fear or suspicion of others) is essential for:
- Deep connection, openness, and ease within all relationships.
- The ability to sense into and confidently express your authentic desires.
- Playfulness, trust, and fun wherever you are, whoever you’re with (including friends, lovers, and even hopeful seedy dudes at the bar).
- A sense of being able to let go and fully express yourself with confidence.
- Self-love and honouring the sacred nature of your authentic desires without ‘tolerating’.
- Powerful, present and fully connected sexual experiences!
This is a short introductory Tantra-inspired women’s workshop about releasing victim/prey beliefs and helping you to feel safe, empowered, embodied, and free in your body and relationships. It’s about flipping the script from feeling like you’re vulnerable prey, into feeling EMPOWERED.
In many ways, this is a counter-cultural workshop. Women are often taught to 'watch out' and protect themselves. We’re rarely taught to care for our own needs first, to be fully in touch with our authentic desires & boundaries, to feel bold in our own skin, to confidently express our desires, and compassionately and unapologetically speak our boundaries.
In this workshop, you’ll have guided experiences and learn tools to begin to:
- Let go of the need to 'freeze &please' and be more able to feel and honour your genuine desires.
- Release victim consciousness, especially sexual-victim beliefs.
- Bring awareness to unhelpful stories and tactics that you've used to navigate relationship dynamics and gather empowering stories and tools.
- Flip the script from the guarded &wounded woman into the embodied & empowered warrior.
- Experience your body as a safe and powerful space and learn tools to fully let go.
- Feel a sense of ease and freedom in your own body wherever you are, whoever you’re with.
This workshop is designed for female participants. It’s a safe space that is facilitated by a woman (Caitlyn Cook) and a man (Dr Stephen SouLove). It’s suitable for women who are single or coupled. We welcome all orientations. All practices are PG-rated and fully clothed. This workshop relates to sexuality, but it involves non-sexual, interaction.
Caitlyn is a conscious sexuality teacher and founder of the SexyLove Project. She incorporates lots of things in her work with sexuality and embodiment, like meditation, dance, drama, and mindfulness.
Caitlyn used to suffer from clinical depression, anxiety, and disordered eating. It sucked. She found Tantra four years ago and looooves what it's unlocked for her—body confidence, trust with others (especially men), pleasure, aliveness, authenticity.
Caitlyn has a playful, no BS, and accessible way of teaching Tantra. She celebrates the strength of vulnerability, seeing it as the place for healing, connection, and empowered living.
Dr Stephen SouLove
SouLove is a physician and a shamanic transformationalist. As a doctor, he has vast and credentialed knowledge about the mysteries of the human body and, as a transformationalist, he brings much experience & wisdom in transforming trauma, freeing the emotional body and releasing soul fire.
SouLove weaves together a vast array of wizard healing tools into a profoundly beautiful and powerful experience of transformation that can best be only described as 'masterful art'.
His intuition is a laser beam of love that cuts through the bullshit of fear & self doubt and re-ignites ones eternal soul fire of love & self worth. SouLove's gifts for facilitating transformation stem from an ability to see outside the box of how things appear to be and from his capacity to artfully and masterfully reveal the inherent wisdom that allows for healing & insight to occur in spontaneous and unexpected ways.
“SouLove sees things that no one sees. He puts it all together in unique ways with untamed primal innocence, interconnectiveness, and love.”
Are you keen for the workshop, but thinking, "hmm, yeh, but, mmmm, I’m not sure?"
How challenging will it be?
We are digging into a big cultural issue here. There are some deep wounds and fears in this area for most girls & women. It’s likely we’ll explore territory that feels a bit new or edgey for you—this is where the healing, expansion, and release lives! We encourage you to be bold and honour your needs throughout the workshop so you always feel safe.
Do I have to do stuff? Or just listen to you talk?
You have free choice at all times. All exercises are 100% voluntary and you can choose to sit and watch if that is what feels best for you. The workshop will be a little bit of listening, mostly doing. It's experiential—this allows you to learn things & make shifts with your mind, emotions and spirit. Powerful stuff.
How intimate is this workshop?
This workshop relates to sexuality, but it involves non-sexual interaction. There is no erotic touch. Also, you don’t have to do anything, ever—you’re fully in your personal sovereignty 100% of the time.
Is it for single people? Or people with partners?
Both: it's suitable for everyone. For people with partners, this workshop can transform your relationship. It’s unlikely your partner would feel threatened, etc. Check in with them, though! - Is it for men, women, everyone? Women (and gender-queer folks) only.
All genders- and queer-friendly?
Who else will be there?
Me and Dr Stephen Soulove. Your friends, and cool women you haven’t met yet. Bring a friend, if you’re nervous or want to have some positive growth experiences together with a favorite sister!
