From Plan to Practice: How the Behaviour Support Ecosystem Is Breaking Down
Overview
Behaviour Support - we need to talk.
Under the NDIS, Behaviour Support is complex and often misunderstood. Even when plans look strong on paper, they can fall apart in practice.
Delivered collaboratively by Hireup and Kameleon Group, this three-part webinar series lifts the lid on Behaviour Support and creates space for an honest, practical conversation about where and how it breaks down, and how we can work together to address it.
Bringing together the clinical perspective of a Specialist Behaviour Support provider and the frontline experience of an NDIS registered implementing provider, we unpack the reality between paperwork and practice, including restrictive practices.
Across three sessions, we will:
- Outline what the Behaviour Support Ecosystem is, and how it works.
- Explore why Behaviour Support Plans look strong on paper, but fall apart in real life.
- Learn why collaboration is the key missing link to meaningful outcomes.
- Identify common gaps and barriers that prevent effective implementation.
- Discover a pathway to safe and ethical Behaviour Support outcomes.
- Explain what quality Behaviour Support must look like under the NDIS.
Overview of Parts 1, 2 and 3
Each session has been designed to form a clear pathway through the Behaviour Support Ecosystem. From understanding roles and responsibilities, to improving real-world implementation, and defining what quality Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) looks like beyond box ticking and compliance.
Part 1: The Behaviour Support Ecosystem - How Collaboration Drives Outcomes
➜ Roles and responsibilities, where they overlap, and why collaboration makes or breaks quality outcomes.
Part 2: Beyond the Plan – Behaviour Support in Real Life
➜ How common barriers impact effective implementation, and practical solutions that work.
Part 3: More Than Compliance – What Quality Behaviour Support Looks Like
➜ What to expect from Specialist Behaviour Support providers and implementing providers under the NDIS.
