Event description

Description

Join us to hear from academics, practitioners, employers, and unions about the challenges involved in balancing work and families in contemporary Australia. There will be a particular focus on child care arrangements, the costs of care, government approaches to the provision of assistance and insights into the conflicting pressures women face in returning to the workforce after having children. Hear from Professor Marian Baird from the University of Sydney, Ms Sarah Meier an employment lawyer in private practice, Dr Libby Anderson, a cardiologist and mother of two and Erin Cresswell, industrial officer at United Voice. This is a public event and we would encourage anyone interested in work and the family to come along and join the discussion.
