Event description
Come along to hear about women's footy in Darebin

About this event

In 1981, the Victorian Women’s Football League was created. For the first time women could establish clubs, like the Fairfield Falcons in Darebin, and play senior competition Aussie rules footy.

Join Kris Gardner, Sally Rees and Colleen Hale, who were part of the re-emergence of the Fairfield Falcons in the 1990s, in conversation with sports journalist, author and film maker Angela Pippos, as they relive the early days of the league. As players, coaches and administrators they experienced the highs and the lows, the hard work, the friendships, and the struggle to play their sport at the highest level.

This COVID Safe event is being held in person at Preston Library. Places are limited and bookings are essential!
