Event description

Description

Darren De Bortoli is an award-winning winemaker and the CEO of a third generation family business founded in the Riverina. He understands the Murray Darling Basin like few others do and has been active in lobbying to change policy.

Australia swings between drought and flood. With Queensland and New South Wales currently experiencing a severe drought the Murray Darling is under stress with farmers, towns, the environment, and the city of Adelaide all competing for a share.

Untangling the mess that is the Murray Darling Basin Plan is crucial to the health of the rural sector in this country. Darren's presentation will help you to understand where we've gone wrong, and what we might do to right the situation.

In honour of our guest, not only will this be a good way to wind-down after winding-up your week, but we'll ensure we have some bottles of his own product on hand.
