Fresh Science School Forums

SA school student classes are invited to the South Australian Museum to hear bright young early career researchers present their work in a series of rapid-fire presentations in one hour sessions that are sure to fire your students up about science.

The talks are aimed at Year 9 and 10 students, but students from upper primary to Year 12 are welcome. These sessions are for school attendees only and all students must be accompanied by supervising teachers. Each person attending (students and teachers) is required to book a ticket online - but you do not need to print it because we will have your booking at the door - i.e. school and number of tickets.

Two separate sessions are available with different presenters at each - you may book your class for either or both at:

10:15-11:15

OR

11:45-12:45

Fresh Science is a national competition helping early-career researchers find, and then share, their stories of discovery.

The program takes up-and-coming researchers with no media experience and turns them into spokespeople for science, giving them a taste of life in the limelight, with a day of media training and an opportunity to present to school students and the public at events in their home state.

Five researchers will present their research in each session with a short time for allowed questions.

If you have questions about attending the event, please contact leanne.wheaton@samuseum.sa.gov.au

Fresh Science, now in its 21st year, is sponsored in South Australia by the South Australian Museum, The University of Adelaide, Flinders University and the University of South Australia.
