Event description

Description

Hobart has a rich history and culture. 200 years of European settlement and thousands of years of indigenous occupation has created a unique blend of characters and locations on our small and historically isolated island.

We welcome cruise ship passengers, air and domestic tourists and Tasmanian residents to join our tour.

90 minute, leisurely paced, free walk tour of Hobart and Battery Point.
Starting at Hunter Street, First Settlers monument (pictured).
9.30am every morning, every day.

You will hear stories you will remember forever. Stories of happenings, of Merchants, Governors, Convicts, Aborigines and the women of the Colony. You will walk along streets lined with Georgian architecture, hand carved from cliffside sandstone by convicts, blended with modern architecture and comforts. We show you parks, cemeteries and cafes, our harbour and museums.

Group numbers are limited and bookings are essential. Please wear comfortable footwear, bring water, a hat and a jacket in case of inclement weather.

Your tour is free but your guide will gratefully accept a donation at the end of the tour if you have enjoyed your experience.
