To raise awareness and mark 16 Days in WA campaign, Southern Ports invites you to join in a free Women's Self Defence Workshop in Bunbury.
About this event
The 90 minute class will cover pre course information, psychology of violence, de-escalation techniques, efficient and proven ways to bust out of common street attacks such as defencing against grabs, chokes and holds as well as how to detect warning signs of potential threats, effective striking, techniques to get power behind strikes, punches and kicks. In addition to this, attendees will also learn about legal considerations, security awareness, physical self defence considerations and techniques and how to equalise a situation with a large stronger attacker with everyday objects as defensive tools.
The overall structure of all training periods is based on delivery of knowledge and skills enhancement while increasing participant’s confidence levels relevant to each skill set. It must be remembered that in the time allocated that the techniques taught are specific and are designed to enable participants to obtain a suitable level of competency in a short period of time. This training is regulated in a controlled and safe environment.
This is an all ages , all fitness levels free event supported by Southern Ports.
