Free Portrait Sketch
Event Information
About this event
How would you like to have your very own portrait, drawn for no charge by members of our Thursday Sketch Group?
At Pepper Street Arts Centre a regular weekly group of drawing enthusiasts use live models as their 'head and shoulders' drawing subjects. We would love to find some new men and women to volunteer their time to sit for our enthusiastic artists. The group is comprised of both experienced and developing sketchers, with a maximum of 12 in any session.
When and how?
Thursdays weekly, 1.30 pm start time for 3 or 4 short periods of 'sitting' (20 minutes each) with a leg stretch in between, followed by complimentary afternoon tea. Leave with your take home sketch copies as a thankyou! (Your ticket will state a 1.20 pm start time as they appreciate it if you could arrive then. Booking is for one person on each available date). Afternoon tea is complimentary for the sitter, held in the Pepper Street Arts Centre's "Dorrit's Coffee Shop" after the sitting.
Why?
Volunteer sitters enable this much beloved social group of portrait sketchers to continue to refine their skills. You will also contribute to the sense of community that we value as an integral part of Pepper Street Arts Centre.
Do I need to wear or bring anything special?
No, the group are keen to sketch each sitter as they are. Nothing special is required.
COVID related information:
As per current SA Health requirements and any COVID safe plans. Mask wearing is optional for the sketchers. Sitters are preferred without masks when being sketched.
Other
You are the only booking taken for your chosen date. We appreciate that sometimes things occur and you cannot attend on the day. We very much appreciate notification of this as early as possible. In most cases it is not possible to find another sitter at short notice. You are welcome to transfer your booking to someone else in your place.
