Event description

Description

UnionsACT is proud to host this free public forum titled Toxic Inequality and How We Can Beat It.

Inequality is at its worst levels in over 70 years, with incomes stagnating, job insecurity rising, and the gap between the richest and poorest growing, while millionaires and big business avoid paying tax.

This forum will hear from three leading thinkers and activists on inequality, with a focus on what everyday people, movements, institutions and governments can do to beat it.

Speakers

Michele O'Neil: President of the Australian Council of Trade Unions

Emma Dawson: Executive director of Per Capita, the progressive think-tank

John Falzon: Senior social justice leader, activist and poet

All welcome. This is a free forum. RSVP is essential.

The first half of the program is devoted to the panel presenters, followed by a question and answer period.
