What is financial capability coaching?

Coaching is a collaborative, solutions-focused, goal-oriented model of building financial capability that goes beyond just giving people financial information.

We define coaching as “…a process by which people determine their financial goals and the pathways and tools they need to achieve these goals. Coaching recognises that people are experts in their own lives and the outcomes they are seeking. Through the coaching process, people maintain ownership of their goals to create sustainable change and greater self-determination.”

What you will learn

Our Financial capability coaching training aims to support your personal and professional development. It will:

  • help you understand coaching concepts and how this can add value to your work
  • give you basic coaching skills, techniques, and tools
  • help you understand your own relationship with money and how to set and reach financial goals
  • build your confidence to have empowering money conversations with the people and communities you work with.

About the training

The training is free, evidence-based and provided by trained coaches.

It is is delivered through two interactive modules. You can choose to do Module One only.

Both modules are recommended for people who work with women who are experiencing financial stress and disadvantage.
