Description

TOPIC: Main challenges and opportunities as an Engineer migrating to Australia.

The event will give you a better understanding of how to expand your professional network, communicate in modern ways, and how to become more engaged in your professional development.

The event will feature the success story of some overseas-qualified engineers who will talk about its experience and will offer tips to those engineers willing to achieve their dreams in Australia!

Make sure you have all your questions ready for the event!

Why should you attend this event?

You will be able to meet professional engineers and network with the profession leaders to discuss hot topics in the engineering world and create more relationships.

  • Networking has become an essential aspect of your job search. Even if you are well established in your job and have no plans of moving or advancing your career soon, networking has proven to be a valuable tool.
  • Today, studies have shown that up to 80% of jobs are never advertised – they are filled by word of mouth. So it’s who you know and who knows you that matters.

You must develop relationships and connections within your network to have more opportunities to advance your career.

About our speakers

Cassio Donato

I am a mechanical engineer from Brazil, after spending 8 years working in a plastic manufacturing in Sao Paulo I decided it was time for a change.

  • At that time Australia was welcoming mechanical engineers to migrate as skilled professional. I then applied and was granted the PR visa while finishing to organise my move to Australia.

In the beginning, I got many refuses on job applications and for some time I’ve worked in retail as a sales assistant. After 20 months from when I arrived in Australia I found an opportunity and gave my best to secure a job, and here I am until now.

David Ramirez

I am David from Colombia. Before Australia, I used to work as an Informatics Engineer for a Telecommunications company until the day I decided to study English in Brisbane, this was in February 2013.

  • For approximately 2 years I worked in hospitality (cook or cleaner), but I never gave up the possibility of working in my field, so I started building my business in software.

Later in September 2015, I quit my job as a cook and since then I only work with software.

Samat Afkar
