Description

Join local experts from Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH), Local Land Sercies and Penrith City Council to learn about local biodiversity and enjoy a tasty brunch at Conservation Volunteers Australia's tranquil conservation reserve in Londonderry.

You will learn about an exciting private-public-partnership project aiming to save an endangered plant: Nodding Geebung, with funding from OEH's "Saving Our Species" program. You will also learn about the wonderful native plants and animals that call this place home; plus, a rare opportunity to explore the reserve and meet with experts seeking to save and secure threatened species from extinction.


8.00am Optional pick up from Penrith Station North Carpark (if requested in advance).

8.30am Meet on site at Londonderry Reserve for registration and refreshments

8.45am Free brunch with tea, coffee, hot chocolate and Free Face Painting!

9.00am Introduction to the reserve, guest speakers and community question and answer session

10.00am Guided tour of the reserve and opportunity to learn about local endangered species.

11.00am Opportunity to get involved in a practical conservation activity such as weeding.

11.30am Event finished.
