Event description

Description

Following on from the popular events held in previous years, Frankston City Council is once again hosting a History Day celebration. This year will see the occasion explore Frankston’s rich and diverse history from 1966 (when Frankston was officially declared a city) right up until the present day.

In the past this event has attracted several hundred residents and we anticipate the new Frankston Arts Centre venue will appeal to an even larger audience.

The day will feature a series of guest speakers, a short film and a display of memorabilia illustrating various aspects of life in Frankston over the past half century.

Guests welcome from 12.30pm onwards. Event to commence at 1.00pm.

Light afternoon tea refreshments will be provided for a gold coin donation (per person) upon entry.

If you have materials or a story to share to feature in the film, please contact Frankston City Council’s Town Planning Department via email at town.planning@frankston.vic.gov.au or on 9784 1733.
